What's Going on in There?

"Let me in, let me in so I can shed from the hair on my chinny, chin, chin!"

While trying to do a little cleaning over the weekend I sent the Oz outside on the deck as I vacuumed his beloved couch. He wasn't too happy about it and wanted back inside. All I wanted was to spare the couch from extra layers of dog hair! Ti's the season to shed, shed shed!

Finally Friday and Achoo!

"Ah.... the sun feels good on my wrinkles!"

Again I have been negligent in posting on Ozzie's blog. Lately my part time job has had full time hours and I haven't been able to do anything but the basics! Ozzie is not particularly happy about this either. Though the weather here in New Jersey has been wonderfully warm and summer like at times and he has been hanging out on the deck with Grandpa during the day.
Along with the warmer weather comes need for flea and tick protection which I have run out of. This is going to require a trip to the vets. Well luckily all that over time money will have a purpose! Never mind my hair is looking pretty ratty and could use some help and a bit of color! Oh well.

Also with spring weather comes allergy season. I noticed myself sneezing with some other nasal symptoms. Ozzie is also one to suffer from allergen's in the air. Dogs can get skin rashes and suffer from the same things that cause human allergies. It could be a help to wash off their paws when they come in from the outdoors. Itching can be caused by mites or a plethora of fungi, so keep an eye on excessive scratching and paw licking.

Here is wishing you all a great weekend and ......achooo....hey Ozzie pass the tissues!

When Irish Bulldogs Eyes are Smiling!

We are gearing up here to celebrate St Patrick's day. Though there is not a smidgen of Irish blood in any of us we all love to celebrate the day! I made the traditional corn beef and cabbage dinner last night since we are going over by our friends house on Saturday. Yes we will have more then but it's like corn beef for the soul, its good to gorge on once a year. At least that is what Ozzie says!
Here is a little Irish-Bulldog ditty for you to sing for tomorrow. Yes Ozzie I know you're English. It's just for one day!

When Irish-Bulldogs eyes are smiling,
Sure, 'tis like the morn in Spring.
In the lilt of Irish laughter
You can hear the angels sing.
When Irish-Bulldogs hearts are happy,
All the world seems bright and gay.
And when Irish-Bulldogs eyes are smiling,
Sure, they steal your heart away.

Back From Vacation

So sorry there was a week that went by with not even posting a word! We were away on a ski trip to Lake Tahoe much to Ozzie's chagrin! A beautiful place to visit no matter what time of the year! The 22 mile around lake is so deep you could submerge the Empire State building and still have 30 feet of water over the top of it! Because of its extreme depth it never freezes over and the shades of azure blue are outstanding. They could of used more snow but like most places this year its been a mild winter. A ski guide who has worked at Heavenly ski resort for the last 25 years told us this is the least amount of snow he has ever experienced during a winter season. They usually have snow measurable in several feet while this time around they only had maybe 40 inches tops!
Grandpa watched Ozzie while we were away. I was told he was a very good boy! We arrived home at 1:00 AM on Sunday morning and there was no bulldog happier to wake up from his slumber than the Oz. You should of seen that little tail wagging.
Well its back to work and life as we know it! Though its unusually warm for mid-March I will gladly take it! Ozzie has been sunning himself on the deck for the past few days and the hyacinths and daffodils are in bloom. Can we safely say good bye to winter?!

Finally Friday and Ozzie the Candidate?

Candidate Ozzie? He is definitely bullish on America!

Ozzie told me he is getting tired with the Republican candidates and all the jabs back and forth. He is thinking about entering the race on the bulldog ticket. "Americans are looking for real change and a fresh face in Washington and I feel I fit the bill!" Ozzie will make his decision in the next few days in the meanwhile he is going to take a power nap and think it over. Hey Oz I would vote for you!

To all have a wonderful weekend!
